I saw a flash of red in my mailbox. What could it be? Oh, CVS you’ve done it again! Irresistible coupons clearly burning a hole in my mailbox. And just like that they lured me back in. I needed a few things so I was eager to put my $6.00 off of $30.00 coupon to good use. I also had a 20% off coupon so clearly I was anticipating that CVS would be paying ME to take products out of the store. And they usually do.
There was a deal on tampons: Pay $7.99 and receive $3.00 in Extra Bucks. Major Score. I would stock up and use the EB’s on my second transaction. Wrong again. I rang up all of my items and at the end, my beautiful little EB’s did not print. There must have been an error. Nope. I didn’t read the very small, fine print that the tampon deal was limited to 1 transaction. What a rookie mistake. I paid way more than I planned to and once again CVS wins.
That’s not to say that you can’t get some incredible deals at CVS or any drug store for that matter. The moral of the story is to do your homework on your deals and carefully plan them out beforehand. Pay attention to the fine print! You can find current weekly ads on drugstore websites or use their app on your phone to find deals. The Krazy Coupon Lady will literally tell you what’s on sale and how to use coupons and extra bucks (EB) to score some major deals.
I know better and I’m usually a champion couponer. You win CVS. But be warned… I’ll get you.
